You need a clear path. Then you won’t be consumed by the distance of the horizon.

I hike. I bike. I run. All three teach me that you need a plan and milestones to get to your destination.

My name is Philipp Rosenthal.

I was trained as a communicator.
I work as a business coach & consultant.
I am an outdoor person and pretty “informal”.

With more than 20 years of diverse experience, I’ve worked across continents and environments—including large corporations, agencies, consultancies, and, since 2017, as an independent business coach. My career has taken me through Europe and the US, with projects delivered in Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa.

My roles have ranged from:

  • Copywriter (yes, really)

  • Business consultant

  • Start-up and people manager

  • Business and thought leader

  • Team and project coach

What I offer is shaped by both achievements and setbacks. Personal and professional growth often comes from learning what not to repeat—and I wholeheartedly recommend embracing this step.

I thrive in working with large organisations and am deeply attuned to corporate cultures, regional influences, internal politics, and power dynamics.

If there’s one strength I’m known for, it’s asking the right—and sometimes uncomfortable—questions that spark real change.

Away from work, I recharge in the mountains, off the grid. Whether hiking, biking, paddleboarding, or bouldering, I practice pacing myself, planning routes, and staying ready for the unexpected.

I see myself as a Sherpa—a trusted guide who helps clients and colleagues navigate challenging terrain. My focus is on lightening unnecessary burdens, setting the right pace, and building a shared understanding of the path ahead.

Guiding people through complex situations is something I truly enjoy. I offer an outside perspective, stepping back to view problems from new angles—often revealing the best next move. To facilitate this, I design dynamic and engaging workshop experiences, sometimes weaving together sequences of tailored sessions. These workshops help participants access and structure critical information, transforming them into active—and often committed—drivers of change.

My background in the IT industry has given me a deep appreciation for technological complexity and its many influences. This allows me to bridge the gap between business and IT, showing teams that—despite speaking different languages—they’re often describing the same idea, goal, or solution.

Why the Sherpa?

Because I cannot climb the “change mountain” for the people I work with. But I can make their journey to the summit a lot more pleasant.
